Korean food 上午9:39

Went out for Korean food with the crazysister gang today.

Just a sidenote.... As I was on the way there, I walked past this apartment some distance from my place.. and a whiff of something familiar twitched my nostrils... OMG!!!!!! Weed?! In Singapore?! Please note that the only reason why I recognize that smell is cos my ex-roommate in Vancouver was a dealer.. I don't smoke weed. Wow... must be some ang moh who's either unaware of the laws in Singapore/juz plain daredevil. Haha.

But anyway, I digress. Back to Korean food!

So the reason for all the fanfare today was to celebrated TF's and Huimin's bday today with the gang! We went to this Korean place at Amara Hotel. TF and I were not fans of Korean food to be frank.. but well, the Korean food there was really rather not bad. I mean, I'm still not a fan, if u let me choose I'd pick Chinese or Western or Jap over Korean any day but if I HAVE to take Korean I'd go there.

So they had a lot of main courses that ranged from $15-60+ (BBQ and hotpot were the higher end ones), and it looked rather pricey at first glance. But then later, we found that they gave shitloads of freebies.. in the form of the many many side dishes consisting kimchi kimchi and more kimchi! And the best thing is, refills for these kimchi are free!!!

Red kimchi (it tastes rather sour.. like pickled food.. ok it IS pickled food).

Different types of Kimchi. The dish furthest away is rather nice. Its actually shredded potato but none of us could tell. (Jac's photog skills are rather good I've gotta admit though I really don't like her wahaha)

That's all the side dishes u see there! Amazing spread no?! The anchovies were fantastic too!

This cold soup was on the house too. It was sour-ish though.. no idea what it was... cold pickled cucumber chilli soup?

Beef BBQ!! I actually don't really like Asian style beef (I only eat hamburgers and steaks.. no other types of beef) so I gave this a miss.
Jac with her Korean Zha Jiang Mian. Taste rather different from Chinese though. Gotta mix it quite a bit.. and it has chunky stuff inside, not minced stuff. The sauce tastes diff too.
Kimchi tofu soup! TF and I were contemplating this, but in the end got put off cos it looked reddish and we were worried its gonna be super spicy but it turned out to be very mild.
Jac mixing Zha Jiang Mian.
Blurry pic of me sticking out my tongue (Yes I cut my hair! Hahahaha)

WeiKiong's (Huimin's bf) beef soup. I tasted it cos they said it has no beef taste in it. Indeed.. tastes juz like Dan Hua Tang (omelette soup).
TF and I ordered kimchi fried rice and ginseng chicken soup, both of which turned out to be damn good! Though the fried rice was a tad too oily and pricey ($15!).
Close up of ginseng chicken.
TF the birthday girl and her happy smile. Hehe
Weikiong and I! No I wasn't trying to steal Huimin's bf for a picture.. this happens to be a picture of convenience cos he was sitting right next to me.

Huimin and her Bibimbap, which is hot stone bowl stirred rice.
Jackie has a green tongue.
Seafood pancake.. rather yummy. But not with the sauce. The sauce tastes juz plain weird man.. the pancake tastes good by itself.
Look at the spread.. and the aftermath of our ravenous eating.. which left us full to the brim after. Bursting at the seams literally.
Birthday girls Huimin and TF.
Us!
The free ginger tea served after.. its cold and very gingery. The rest insists its super nice but I really cannot take ginger tea, or anything gingery for that matter, and thus gave mine to Jac.
Group shot.
Free desserts.
There was also a free cake and free birthday song (by the waitresses) and free 20% off on public holiday thanks to this voucher Joanne got.. so we ended up paying just 20 bucks each for THIS much food! YAY!

Waiting for Jackie to send me the photos. Meanwhile bear with these low quality ones!

And yes, the reason why I'm posting so few photos these days is cos this lappie doesn't have a port for uploading photos.. even the bluetooth thing I got for the laptop only worked with my previous cellphone. Doesn't work with this new nokia one. Dont ask me why. So I only get to post photos when others take the photos and post them online or send them to me. Hehe.. or when I remember to upload the photos to the com in Wj's home when I go visit him.. IF I remember. HAHA

Okie tts all for today folks! TATA!!!

Welcome to the blog of 武林盟主. In this space of hers, she is entitled to and responsible for her own thoughts and comments. You are welcome to give your few cents worth in the tag, but please do not force her to accept your way of thought if it differ from hers. The Writer
武林盟主 is this pugilistic genius everyone calls a deranged lunatic. But that's cos they haven't witnessed her great powers yet! She can be regarded as the best product coming from the Pugislistic World in the past 100 years, and 武當, 少林ž and 峨嵋 are scrambling to get her to be their 掌门人. She likes think of herself as the next 杨过, 郭靖 or 张无忌Œ.

武林盟主 also has this slightly straight slightly crooked sexuality. At times when the Estrogen triumphs, she preys on hot guys. Other times when the Testosterone levels peak, she preys on hot girls. Some say that is a side effect of the 葵花宝典. Her doctors are still working to establish that.

Many say she's invincible. But that's not true. Bring a DURIAN in front of her, and she will ditch her sword and raise the white flag. She's still desperately trying to master the 闭气功ŠŸ so she can overcome this weakness.

If you feel you can communicate at her level and wish for her to be your soulmate, feel free send her a note of pugilistic admiration and alliance!
